Halloween is just a few days away and I have been thinking about which
movies are my favorite scary movies. I do not have a long mental
database of Horror movies or movies in general, but I do remember a few
as a kid that scared the bejeezus out of me.
The first one that
comes to mind is "It." Even to this day a keep a close eye on clowns or
storm drains around me, not usually around a lot of clowns but when I
am every step is accounted for. Penwise and Bozo look very similar and
maybe we should exhume Bozo just to make sure he is there!
Another
movie would be "Nightmare On Elm Street", I would lay in bed at night
and tell myself "Don't dream of Freddie! Don't dream of Freddie!" I
still wonder if you die in your dreams, does that mean you will die in
reality? Does anyone know? Let me know, this is a question that really
does keep me up at night.
I know this is a short list and there
are probably hundreds of more movies to add to the list, but I will end
my list with "Freaks" (1932). Periodically in the parking lots of
abandoned shopping centers you will see a pop carnival, circus, and/or
sideshows and because of this movie I will not stop. This movie freaked
me out so bad that when I am near children (even my own), midgets,
dwarfs, or vertically challenged people in general, I listen very
closely and make sure none are chanting "Gooble-Goble! Gooble-Goble!"
You are not going to get me carnies, I am not one of you!
I was
curious to know what other people associated with the show and my wife
thought about some of the best scary movies, so I asked.
